About Us

Expressions Art Bar is a culmination of our dreams...

Mary studied Art Education at Boston University and Framingham State.  She also studied Art Leadership at Plymouth State. Mary has worked as an art teacher for a private school for over 12 years and as an art teacher for 15 years.  Two years ago she started a mobile paint and sip business the same time she got pregnant with her second son.  Her husband Justin, an accountant for a Commercial Real Estate company, was very supportive of her passion and encouraged the idea of entepreneurship.

After completing another degree in graduate school, working full time, managing two boys and running a business on the side, Mary and her husband Justin took a vacation in Maui. After attending a paint and sip party with and attending a business bootcamp, and hitting the pause button.  They took a moment to evaluate their dreams, passions and goals for their family.  Upon return, Mary resigned from her job, closed the side business and reopened as Expressions Art Bar.  They are thrilled to be doing a business in their quaint town of Southborough and spending more time with the boys.  The workspace is a fun filled environment that shares a good time with our friends and neighbors.

Cara

Cara studied art at the Art Institute of Boston.  Upon graduation taught design at the Art Institute for several years then was a freelance graphic designer before settling in Hopkinton to raise her three children.  After working part time at a bakery and a coffee shop while sending her three kids off to college, Cara is thrilled to be getting back into the art scene and painting again.  You can find her chatting up a storm, dancing to tunes or wearing bright colors.

Laurie

Laurie is a Southborough resident who grew up in Western Mass, took up ballet for many years and studied art at Skidmore College.  She worked in the budget office before taking time to raise her two beautiful daughters.  She spends her free time drawing and sells her Zentangle artwork at various craft fairs around the state.  She loves long walks, spending time with her family and friends, and you can always hear her laughter across the room.  Laurie is also available for Zentangle parties and workshops.  Also her commissioned pet portraits are in high demand.
